The Ultimate M5 Comes from G-Power and Has 975 Nm of Torque

Just the other day we were looking at a video in which the anniversary BMW M5 30 Jahre Edition was being reviewed and found it quite intriguing. The fastest and most powerful car the Germans put in production showed us that weight isn’t necessarily the worst thing ever.

Now, the guys from G-Power came out with a new version that is, according to them, ‘the ultimate M5’. However, it tramples over the aforementioned limited edition model when it comes to performance figures.

The German tuner made sure to do everything in its power to put together something special. Therefore, allow us to introduce the revised M5 they came up with.

The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet was tuned to deliver no less than 740 HP and 975 Nm (719 lb-ft) of torque instead of the stock 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft). That’s an increase of 180 HP and 295 Nm (217 lb-ft) of torque in case math isn’t your forté.

How was it possible? Well, it was the usual piggyback upgrade that most tuners adopt these days. With forced induction, this kind of increase in power is more than attainable compared to atmospheric plants.

On top of that, a new exhaust is needed to cope with the added fumes resulted from burning extra fuel. Therefore, G-Power is offering an exhaust with pipes that are 100 mm in diameter and also solve the issue of the M car being ‘too quiet’.

Of course, the bump in power also translates into better acceleration numbers. That means that the G-Power M5 leaves behind the 4.3 seconds it took the standard car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and deals with numbers higher than that, going up to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 10.5 seconds. The top speed, if you choose to get the Bi-Tronic 5 V4 package (that removes the speed limiter) goes up to well above the 300 km/h (186 mph) limit.

The car in the adjacent photos is wearing all of the aforementioned upgrades and one additional tidbit like the 21” Hurricane RR forged wheels. Yes, we’d get them too to be honest.

The problem with all of this is that G-Power didn’t provide a price tag for it. It all sounds very impressive but that also has to be taken into account because beyond some stages, it become irrelevant how fast this M5 is...
