Everything is fast these days, and when you’re a member of the exclusive 1% club, then you need to have everything at your fingertips. Embarking on a flight has come to be quite complicated with all the paperwork and the mess of waiting and going through airports. At least that’s how those that never look at the price list of things think. That’s why there’s a new app planning to take care of such problems.
It’s called JetSmarter and is the brainchild of Sergey Petrossov, a 27-year-old entrepreneur who thought the obvious: create an app that solves all the trouble classic flying involves. The start-up company announced Thursday that it has closed a $20 million Series B round. We’re talking proper investments, with contributing investors such as the Saudi Royal Family, several unnamed entertainment moguls, and, according to Business Insider, even Jay Z.
Of course, when you’re filthy rich you don’t want regular people know that you prefer getting a special treatment, thus avoiding all the “normal life hustle” which is why most of the investors prefer to remain anonymous. Moreover, such services come at a price, as JetSmarter members pay $9,000 a year to get unlimited access to private flights - pocket change for Richie Rich, of course.
Is this app raising to its expectations? Well, let's put it this way - in about two years since its official launch the company has already opened its new European Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. According to JetSmarter, the company uses a smartphone application to connect transparently passengers and air carriers to chartered flights. Over 3,000 aircraft of all kinds of models are currently available for booking through the app, apparently.
