It’s nothing as spectacular as some of the things Tom Cruise does in character, but it does have its merits.
Slovenian design firm Vom Creations took part in that sketch contest, as well, with an entry called Mr Hunt. Reactions to the sketch were so positive, that the team decided to turn the sketch (which you can find in the gallery attached) into a fully-fledged concept.
Mr Hunt, much like the character whose name it borrows, is sophisticated, incredibly capable, fast and, dare we say it, quite handsome. It is a 190-foot (58-meter) explorer yacht designed for Arctic exploration, so it’s been rendered with a near-vertical plumb bow that would help it break up the ice to advance to its destination, no matter how remote. With an exterior by Jalen Vogelnik and an interior by Gaegon Muric, Mr Hunt was also directly influenced by SS Vega, the first yacht to cross the North-East Passage.
The three-decked explorer was designed to provide as much open space on the decks as possible. The bow comes with a generous lounge area with a jacuzzi, and there’s another, even bigger, skydeck aft with a secondary jacuzzi and a bar – but this one is accessible from the owner suite and is probably meant as a private area.
Meanwhile, the entire main deck is reserved for housing all those toys a spy worthy of the name might need for a quick getaway and / or a quick and efficient mission at sea. Renders show the expendable platform at the stern would be just perfect for storing a couple of tenders and at least three jet skis – and still have room left to throw in a couple of lounge chairs, so it could work as a beach club.
“With the owner in mind, we designed an ideal yacht for an Arctic cruise – an explorer that can crush through ice,” the design studio says. “After daily explorations the owner and guests can relax in the sauna, library or bar, which are all featured on board.”
