When it comes to BMW tuning, most of the world renowned tuners come from either Germany (AC Schnitzer, Hartge, Alpina, etc.) or the United States of America (Active Autowerke, Akrapovic, etc.). This time we were surprised to find out that South Africa has some pretty interesting options.
Rob Green Motorsports is a South African tuner was recently voted the top performance tuning company in the country. They have gathered 22 years of experience and seem to know what they're doing.

The best way to prove your worth is by showing the world what you created. And here it is: a very powerful BMW E92 M3 that they like to call THE THING. Starting from the base S65 engine, they managed to get 750 HP and 680 Nm of torque.

It wasn't easy to get to that level of power. First of all they installed a RGM Vortech Stage 2 Supercharger. That had to get cooled air into the engine so they decided to go with a RGM Liquid Charge Cooling system with a 16-liter coolant capacity.

The exhaust system had to be changed, so they got a RGM Stainless Steel performance to get rid of the excess exhaust gases from the engine. The V8 was also fitted with recirculation valves to ensure that the upgraded car is still drivable at low speeds and light throttle positions.

The ECU map had to be redesigned in order to change the quantity of the injected fuel and the ignition timing. The intake system was turned into carbon fibre in order to ensure the necessary air quantities that the supercharger needs and to lighten the weight of the car. Brembo ceramic brake disks have been installed along with Brembo brake calipers.

Following all those changes, the exterior had to be redesigned in order to keep the car under control aerodynamic-wise. The M3 got a special Vorsteiner GTRS Wide Bodykit that makes a whole lot of a difference, and a revised carbon fibre bonnet. The new, flared wheel arches are now 120mm wider at the front and 280mm wider at the rear.

The KW Variant 3 suspension allows the car to be fine tuned to the exact needs of the driver while the wheels increased in size. They are now Vorsteiner's V308 rims fitted with Michelin PS2 tires that measure 285/25/20 at the front and 325/25/20 at the back. Looking at it from the rear you can notice the carbon fibre boot and the new rear diffuser with 4 exhaust pipes.

All that tuning makes this one of the fastest BMW M3s out there. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds (a 1.6 second improvement from the stock version), does a quarter mile in 12.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 320km/h.

The conversion cost for such a beast is $92,000. Adding that to the price of the E92 M3 which starts at $60,000 you might be looking at something around $150,000 dollars. How bad do you want it?
