It's hard to think that a vehicle so perfectly tuned as the Porsche 911 Turbo needs more tinkering, but the boys at Techart refuse to take no for an answer and decided to raise the bar even higher. They fitted what they call the TA097/T3 performance kit that gives added horsepower and torque to the engine (660 hp to be precise and 860 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm).
Coupled with Porsche's Tiptronic six-speed gearbox, this new engine power can boost the car from 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds. But the Tiptronic doesn't make that much of a difference, because with a manual gearbox, the time is longer by just one tenth of a second. The top speed on this rocket? Try 345 km/h on or size. We suggest a barf bag close on hand in case things get hairy.
This performance was achieved by the addition of turbochargers, large carbon fibre inlet pipes, special intercoolers, a sports exhaust system and an improved air filter. All of these things put together increase the overall output of the engine but also ensure a smoother ride at high speeds.
Visually speaking, the car's aerodynamics was altered for bigger speeds with an aero-bonnet headlight and mirror trims, sill panels and a carbon fibre rear spoiler. Also with better aerodynamics in mind, air ducts on the front apron were added, along a carbon fibre diffuser. These air ducts connect directly to the intercooler.
The overall design isn't at all intrusive and respects the original lines of the car which is very good, since the Porsche 911 Turbo is an awesome looking car. Coupled with a hoard of customizable options on the inside on the car, Techart are aiming to woo you with their Porsche. These features include 3-spoke wheels, aluminum pedals and leather interior.
