Top Gear’s Facebook page recently reached 15 million likes. Therefore, the guys had to celebrate somehow. Jezza, Hammond and May didn’t do anything in particular on this occasion but they did somehow manage to get the Stig in front of the camera to celebrate.
In his usual style, as the prodigy car driver is seemingly not normal (or even out of this world for that matter), he celebrated with his helmet on, staring into the camera and with a confetti stick in his hands.
At one point, some say he killed a pigeon when he opened the confetti but all we know is that Top Gear claims there were no birds harmed in the doing of this video. However, it should be duly noted that the Stig might’ve punched a badger when leaving the set.
The reason for that might’ve been the car behind him. Some say it’s the next step in car making tech and that it will lead to a better future but others say it’s not what BMW used to make.
The Stig might very well be one of the people in the latter category. After all he is known for his radical opinions on such matters and that he is an avid exhaust fumes inhaler. That’s how he chills after a long day.
As for the i8, its plug-in hybrid setup is the one that drives people away. Sure, it offers 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque instantly and over 360 HP on tap but it also has to carry around a battery and that’s not what ‘purists’ want.
