The Soup Comedian Joel McHale Started off with a Wrecked VW Bug, Now Drives a Porsche

Jerry Seinfeld is a Porsche enthusiast; no, he’s not a fan, the comedian is a maniac. Nobody knows for sure, but he owns at least 50 of them, including some gorgeous rarities like that Porsche 959. Sure, The Soup star Joel McHale is far from sizing with the creator of Seinfeld TV series, yet he does share a similar interest in fast cars, apparently.

Who are we kidding here? McHale is far from being any close to Seinfeld’s estimated $820 million fortune. But it’s not just that what stops the 43-year-old comedian from wishing a massive car collection. “I always wanted an FJ, and I always wanted a sportscar and I feel blessed and like a glutton because I have two,” he told Autoweek, in a recent interview.

We’re not sure if you’ve watching McHale’s show, so we’ll take a second to check out his resume. He is known for hosting the weekly The Soup television series on E! since July, 2004. He portrays Jeff Winger on the NBC comedy series Community and also appeared in several movies such as Spider-Man 2 and Ted.

The Rome, Italy-born comedian is, like most of them Hollywood celebrities, a car guy. Sure, he doesn’t turn his enthusiasm into some sort of religion, as others do, but he likes autos.

According to the source, the comedian’s history with holding a wheel started with a 1967 VW Bug that failed to keep going after about two hours of driving. Another 1974 model followed, but this one ended up being crashed by one of his brothers, so it didn’t stay long in the family.

Sure, there was that in between normal life and success phase when a bunch of Honda Civic, Toyota Camry and Peugeot followed. Today, however, he is the proud owner of both a custom rebuilt Toyota FJ43 and a 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S.
