We're going to stop short of calling it a Light Commercial Vehicle like Renault does, but the new version of Renault's cheapest EV is undeniably going to prove handy.
The new Twizy Cargo, presented for the first time in yesterday's post, ditches the rear seat in favor of a cargo area accessible via a rear hatch. With 180 liters of cargo volume, you're never going to have a weekend getaway. But as Renault's press photos prove, you can stuff a delivery from a French bakery or maybe a few boxes of shoes.

Today, our favorite French EV maker posted UK pricing and availability for the car. The cheapest model is £6,241.67 excluding VAT (£7,795 VAT included – as a car-derived van, it can simply be reclaimed). Besides tho, you'll have to put up with £36 per month.

As expensive as that might sound for such a little car, we thing it's going to be cheaper to run than a delivery scooter. Although official figures are higher, Renault says to expect real-world range of around 50 miles. Once at its destination it can be topped up with charge simply by using a standard three-pin plug. By doing that and without a fast charging system, the Twizy can be fully charged in 3.5 hours at the cost of £1.

So, that's £2 per 100 miles… not bad at all!
