The Ragged Edge, an Upcoming Documentary on Erik Buell Racing

We're in for a most interesting documentary on Erik Buell Racing and the tumultuous history of this brand, from its debut in 1983, through the Harley era and what followed after it. From Buell to Harley and back to Erik Buell Racing, this documentary will be a testimony of the only American sports bike and its heritage.

While it's obvious that the undertakings for such a documentary have been taken a long time ago, we cannot help asking if the most recent developments in the life of EBR will be also taken into account. Frankly, we believe they won't.

However, we can hope that maybe it's not too late. The producers of the Ragged Edge might postpone releasing the full documentary until they get some more material about EBR ceasing operations and entering receivership. No premiere date was announced, and maybe, just maybe, there's till hope.

Anyway, this documentary could receive a sequel telling the story of EBR's downfall, especially as more info on what is really going on with the Wisconsin motorcycle manufacturer is still to be expected.

We remind you that earlier this month, EBR announced closing operations and entering receivership. The company has $20m (€18.3) in liabilities, and an appointed attorney is searching for investors, before auctioning off the assets in an attempt to compensate the creditors.

We'll be watching the documentary and hopefully come back to you with more news on what the future of EBR might be. Some say that the whole story was a deliberate move from Hero, who is allegedly expected to fork out the money to claw EBR technology, facilities in the US and dealer network. Time will tell, like always.
