"The Pulse" RS6 performance Commercial Proves Audi Is Obsessed with Body Parts

While German car technology is among the best in the world, the same cannot be said about their commercials. Just take this one coming from Audi.de called "The Pulse." It's about a heart from an organ donor that suddenly developed a beat, thanks to the excitement it's subjected to during a ride in the RS6 performance.

The RS6 Avant is one of the most capable wagons in the world, able to take the cat to the vet faster than it can puke out a hairball. So how does Audi make it even better? By launching the performance model. We must note that, while we hate the commercial, the car is great.

Before Mercedes even thinks of tuning its 4-liter twin-turbo V8, Audi has the RS6 performance meaty output of 605 hp and 700 Nm of torque. That's enough to shave the 0 to 62 time down to just 3.7 seconds. If you think all that weight is a problem, you'd be wrong, as the wagon gets from 0 to 100 miles per hour and back to 0 in about the same time as a Lamborghini Murcielago. No wonder that heart developed a pulse!

Before we wrap up this story, let's run through some of the other commercials where Audi used body parts.

The most obvious example is "The Eye," which is an Audi UK commercial where the R8 makes a guy's iris pop open. It's weird, but not as bad as the heart.

At the other end of the spectrum, there's "Birth," an ad for the RS3 where the hot hatch literally comes out of the birth canal of an R8. It's like Transformers meets Aliens, so we wouldn't recommend watching it if you are easily grossed out.

We found hearts in Audi ad videos and print ads from as early as 2009. But that's really not surprising when you consider their little theme song sounds like a mechanical heartbeat.

Editor's note: I've read through all the comments and the Germans love this ad. So weird is good over there!
