The Plug-N-Go Driver Backrest for Indian Is a Cool, Expensive Upgrade

The Plug-N-Go Driver Backrest is the latest add-on for your Indian motorcycles. Offered by the premium aftermarket parts designer Kuryakyn, this backrest can be seen as a major game-changer for riders who are not afraid to put more than 500 miles or so on the clock in one day.

Having proper lumbar support while on a bike is a boon that enhances the ride in multiple ways, and guys who like long hauls know this better than anyone else. A proper backrest reduces lumbar stress and overall fatigue, allowing a rider to remain focused and aware for extended periods of time.

At the same time, being able to lean back a bit is also good for a rider's muscular tonus. He or she can rely on the support the backrest offers while extending their legs, avoiding cramps and numbness, while being safer even when traveling at high speed. Some even say that bikes with backrests look even better, but that is a matter of personal taste.

Kuryakyn's Plug-N-Go Driver Backrest also has a contoured design that accommodates a rider's back better than a flat one, while the thick padding makes sure it feels both comfy and firm.

The installation guide (see attached PDF after the jump) reveals that mounting and adjusting it are easy operations that can be done even by riders with little mechanical skills. At the same time, if you give your bike to a friend, that rider will also be able to adjust the Plug-N-Go Driver Backrest according to their needs.

This add-on is fabricated from durable welded and stamped steel, with the padding covered in black or tan premium synthetic leather for excellent weather resilience. The pad is 7" tall x 10" wide (18x 25 cm) and includes steel mounting bracket.

The Kuryakyn Plug-N-Go Driver Backrest will fit all Indian models manufactured between 2014 and 2016, excepting the Scout bikes. The only tricky part is that it costs $600 (€541) and this is not going to be exactly easy on your budget if you had other upgrades in mind. Still, a very neat piece!
