Few people know this but in the design of the whole Z Series, BMW took some design cues from a car built no less than 57 years ago. We're talking about the 507 Roadster, of course, a car designed by Albrecht von Goertz that still looks amazing, to this day.
Today, instead of the 507 we have the modern iteration, in the shape of the E89 Z4 LCI, a car that still retains those beautiful curves on the side and the short apron at the front, together with the retractable roof for those sunny summer days.
As there are more than 5 decades between the two, a wide range of new technologies have been added to the modern version but the essence is still there and still the cause of raised pulses around the world.
