The OmniCentro Dock for Nintendo Switch Lets You Play On the Go in 4K

Nintendo Switch might be a three modes gaming system, but just because it has a handheld mode, doesn’t mean it is always easy to enjoy it. The included Nintendo dock is not the most portable device, with its bulky design and all…But there might be an alternative: a pocket-sized, fast charging dock that supports 4K.

JSaux Team came up with the OmniCentro portable dock, a small, compact device that’s one-fifth of the original Nintendo Switch dock and weighs 3.3 oz (93 grams). The gizmo has an integrated 45W GaN charger that allows fast charging without causing any damage to your hardware. The original Nintendo dock has a power output of only 39W.

The OmniCentro is as versatile as its name suggests. As long as you have a device that is compatible with its ports, you can use the dock with it. The dock has USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A ports.

JSaux claims you can use the OmniCentro to connect an extra monitor, keyboard, or mouse. It can project screens from laptops, smartphones, and tablets. All in all, it’s a multi-functional and powerful charger. The dock can either be plugged directly into the wall or you can use the removable extended cable to reach any dead zones.

The OmniCentro supports 4K video, which means you can upscale from the 1080p and get a slightly better image, even if it doesn’t compare to native 4K.

The portable, multi-functional dock from JSaux is currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign. It has already reached its $5,000 goal and it’s raised almost $18,000 so far, with 27 days left in the campaign.

With all signs indicating that the OmniCentro will enter production, the dock can be yours for a $59 pledge. For this amount, you get one unit with an AC adapter, AC power cable, and a USB-C cable. The estimated delivery time is July 2021.
