The New Skoda Superb Estate Has Big Plans for the UK Market

After seeing an improving brand acceptance on British soil, Czech car maker Skoda has big expectations from the UK car market. Skoda just released the new Superb Estate model in Britain and is aiming to become both the most luxurious and most practical model from the Czech automaker’s portfolio.

The Superb Estate will be available in the same trim levels and powertrain choices as the hatchback version, namely S, SE and Elegance. The entire petrol engine range is equipped with direct injection in order to achieve the best performance and fuel efficiency.

Besides boasting with the biggest luggage space in its class, the Skoda Superb Estate comes with practical features such as a pair of lights built into the tailgate to illuminate not only the load bay but also the area around the rear of the car. Another LED light in the boot can be detached and used as a lantern or mounted to the car’s body on a special magnetic holder.

Another cool feature of the Estate version is the optional power-operated function of the tailgate along with an integrated cover, which automatically retracts when you open the boot. Skoda also allows customers to order personalized luggage floor that can extend over the rear bumper to facilitate loading.

Besides the impressive luggage compartment, which measures 633 liters with the rear seats standing up or 1,865 liters with the rear seats down, all models are fitted with roof rails as standard to accommodate supplemental cargo space.

Additional driver-convenient features include optional keyless entry and starting system (KESSY), which makes it a first for the Czech automaker. The Estate version will only be £1,150 to £1,350 more expensive than the hatchback version and will have available as an option a newly designed two-piece electric panoramic sunroof.
