We welcome the arrival of the new Mazda3 with open arms. Here is a compact family car that's been designed with the driver in mind, something rarely seen in this world of disconnected steering systems.
This video from Mazda themselves shows their hatchback is not only a brand new car, but also has heritage behind it. Unlike most videos of this type, they openly admit their old cars had both good and bad parts, unlike say Porsche who would rather you thing of all 911 as being perfect.

With over 30 years of heritage behind it, the Mazda3 is almost as long lasting as the VW Golf, its biggest rival in Europe.

There's no question all that history helped create a good formula, a winning formula. We just hope they'll develop at least one new engine specifically for the Europeans, because even though they're right that downsizing isn't always the answer, taxes are what they are.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
