The New Aventador Dominates Rome With Passion

OK, the title won’t tell you much about what you are going to see, but no amount of words and metaphors can totally describe the awesomeness that is the Aventador. What we are showing you is not one but two stunners taring up the streets in and around Rome.

We promise these videos will make your hair stand on end: a magnificent city and country, V12 noises everywhere and a soundtrack full of pump and circumstance. What could be better than getting up in the morning, seeing the glorious shape and then taking the LP700-4 for what could be one of the most emotional experiences you’ve ever had.

But before you click that little play button, let’s refamiliarize ourselves with what makes this car so great. Named after a bull that entered into battle in October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the “Trofeo de la Pena La Madronera" for its courage, the Aventador is the latest in a long line of Lamborghini V12-powered supercars that span back to the 1970s Miura.

What you will hear and almost feel in the pair of videos is the brand-new 6.5-liter V12 engine that pushes out 700 hp for a a 0-100 km/h (62mph) sprint time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h (218mph). Following all those angry Italian horses to where they hit the road, we find ourselves at a Haldex full-time electronic AWD system that incorporates a self-locking rear diff and ESP-controlled front diff. The Drive Select Mode offers the choice between three levels of pleasurable torture: spine-tingling Strada, bone-braking Sport, or tooth-mashing Corsa.
