The company has chosen the 2014 New York Auto Show to reveal a strong new look for the tC, which from a distance might leave you wondering if it's not actually the FR-S.
The looks is very angular, with headlights restyled to have points at the bottom and a large grille that dominates most of the front fascia. There's also LED accent lighting, LED taillights and a new rear bumper.
Inside, the 2014 tC coupe got new seating upholstery and a 6.1-inch touchscreen display. Sadly, the engine is the same 2.5-liter unit making 180 hp, but the optional automatic transmission has been revised and has faster gear changes and Dynamic Rev Management technology.
“The sustained success of the tC, which accounts for 40 percent of all Scions ever sold, challenged designers to enhance the 2014 sports coupe in ways that keep it exciting to today’s drivers without losing its core appeal,” said Doug Murtha, Scion vice president. “The outstanding result is a 2014 tC with a sportier style and driving experience that will thrill buyers and hold its unique spot in the marketplace.”
