The whole world is waiting for the BMW F87 M2 to come out but in the meantime we can indulge our need for adrenalin with the M235i. Sure, it’s not nearly as the M2 will be both on proper roads and the track but it’s pretty good itself.
That’s because BMW’s same old recipe was applied to it, combining a small coupe body with a powerful inline 6-cylinder engine, even though it is turbocharged nowadays. We took it for a test and we loved almost everything about it, from the rear axle to the sound of the exhaust.

Want to go a step further? Take your BMW M235i to the Tuningwerks crew and let them have a got at it. That’s how the M235i RS comes to life and trust us, it’s a beast. One of them was spotted recently at the Nurburgring and we had to show you the footage.

What’s so special about the M235i RS anyway?

Well, the M235i is impressive as it is, especially considering its price tag. With 326 HP, 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time of 4.8 seconds, it will blow a lot of cars out of the water.

However, the RS kit takes the power up to 444 HP and 600 Nm (438 lb-ft) of torque, numbers even better than the ones pulled by the new M3 and M4 models. It’s also lighter than its bigger brothers and equipped with more aerodynamic parts than you could imagine, from the front splitters to the rear bumper and the wing on the boot.

That being said, considering the rumors claiming that the new M2 will have around 375 HP, this is something you should consider as your next car. It’s not for everyone, but it will do extremely well on the track.
