The Mobil 1 Porsche 966 Turbo

SEMA has come and gone, but the projects displayed there or prepared especially for that event remain. This is the case with the project made by Theory Communication and Design for Mobil 1 in which they turned a Porsche 96 turbo into a car worthy of the SEMA booth and the top industry icons.

The man behind the project is iForged Wheels owner, Vincent Wong, who commented on the matter: “I have strived to take one of the best engineered cars from Porsche and add my personal touch to it. I have always believed in building a car following the 'show and go' concept. Even though a car looks beautiful, it should also be able to back up its good looks. Every modification performed on the car has a purpose and at the end of the day I hope people will be able to appreciate the hard work and long hours that have gone into building our one of a kind creation”.

But what exactly makes this Porsche stand out from the rest? Well, first of all, there's the TechArt GT Street wide body conversion, then there's the BASF Glasurit Porsche 997 GT3 RS Green paint job, an upgrade package for the engine with 650 hp and Softtronic ECU programming, a special light flywheel and clutch, custom Creative audio system, MA carbon fiber interior, a roll cage and a set of iForged Neo 20-inch wheels.

There are more tidbits that give this Porsche the “special” standard, but the ones listed above are the most important and the most eye-catching, like the car's typical Porsche green paint scheme. We can all agree that the level of customization on this car is worthy of the Mobil 1 name and it deserves to stand on the showroom floor at SEMA next to other projects. The pictures below illustrate the building process.
