Switzerland will host a new edition of the legendary Klausen Race, which will take place between 27 and 29 September 2013. Mercedes-Benz will make a special return to this event with a pre-war W25 Silver Arrow in a collaboration with IWC Schaffhausen.
Naturally, this is not a coincidence, as the W25 was the model driven by Rudolf Caracciola when he set a record at the last Klausen Race, back in 1934 - a record which is unbroken on the original course to this very day.
The Mercedes-Benz W25 is known as being the original Silver Arrow and is powered by a supercharged inline eight cylinder engine that developed up to 494 hp in its highest evolution.
At the wheel of the world's last and only roadworthy Mercedes-Benz W25 will be former racing driver Roland Asch, who is an ex-Mercedes-Benz driver in the German Touring Car Championship back in the 1980s and 1990s.
