Despite annual sales of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class almost tripling in the last four years, not all G-Wagens were created equally from a desirability point of view.
We don't know any other reason for the Germans interrupting production for the G-Class Kurz (Short) in 2011 and the G-Class Cabrio in 2013.
Well, it seems that there is still a market for a shorter G-Class because the folks at Newport Convertible have a new project on hand, and it features a... tah daaah... shortened Mercedes-Benz G-Class with no rear doors except the one for the luggage compartment.
Compared with the original G-Class three-door, this one is a little bit different though, as the remaining doors are lengthened to provide better access for the rear passengers.
We can't say that we don't approve Newport Convertible's idea, but we would have probably went with a standard-looking car instead of opting for the ridiculously kitschy and overstyled Mansory G-Couture bodykit.
