The Mercedes-Benz Actros SLT Can Haul 250 Tons of Anything

The crown jewel of the Mercedes-Benz truck range has just been revealed and, if Michael Bay would ever make a Transformers spin-off not based on an American story, this should most definitely play Optimus Prime's German cousin.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros SLT is a heavy-duty tractor unit specifically designed for European markets, thus completing the introduction of the tri-star brand's new trucks series with Euro VI inline six cylinder engines. It is therefore the only heavy-duty tractor on the market that is compliant to the non-yet enforced Euro VI emission limits.

Its most powerful engine develops 625 hp and 3000 Nm (2213 lb ft) of torque at just 1100 rpm. In conjunction with the only 16-gear heavy-duty transmission on the market, the Actros SLT is certified to haul up to 250 tons without breaking a sweat.

Responsible for the entire development and production of the SLT are the engineers and workers from Daimler's Custom Tailored Trucks, who some of you might know that are based in the company of some rather high-class neighbors in the French Alsatian town of Molsheim. Hint: their neighboring company's emblem is the stylized EB. We know it doesn't mean anything we just thought that's kind of cool.
