The Luggage Cart

It's January and we're already comfortably installed in our office chairs. Planning fever doesn't leave us alone, but I'm convinced that each and every one of you has enough time to think about the holiday that has passed for some time now.

I was chatting with a friend of mine and nostalgia suddenly took over. Every January, I'm sick with memories. I miss the blue water, I miss the fluffy clouds in the sky, I miss the warm, inviting, Asian rain...

Before the vacation I was asking Santa for my childhood's car – red, comfortable and filled with gadgets.

Every time the winter holidays come we ask for things from our childhood and we get sick with memories from a paradisiac age. And now? Today?

Today I realize that Santa didn't listen to my request and it's actually great that he didn't. He didn't bring me Her, but he certainly made up for it. Today I'm missing a tiny electric Chinese car which carries luggage.

In my own folly, I took the luggage down, put a plaid over the back seat - which was dirty due to the luggage of thousand of tourists, dripping with dust and golden sand - and then sped off to take a short cruise among the palm trees.

I didn't pass any tourist since I was driving at a snail-like speed - crabs were passing me without using their turn signals. I also didn't even use the horn once, it was the only car on the island.

At an intersection I encountered two hens, waited politely for them to cross the road and I had plenty of time to photograph to lizards who were in love. Nobody rushed me. Time had patience...

PS: what car do your memories drive?
