Google has released Android Auto 5.3 a few weeks ago, but as the company does every time it updates the app, a changelog was not included, so it was all up to users to discover what was new in this version.
In other words, everybody knows that new Android Auto updates come to resolve issues and further polish the experience with the app but telling exactly what’s been changed from the very beginning is pretty much just a guess.

Now that the majority of users have already updated to Android Auto 5.3, we finally learn more about the improvements in this version.

One of them appears to be a warning whose purpose is to help users prevent so many errors happening while running Android Auto on the car’s screen.

More specifically, some users are seeing a notification informing that “Battery Saver may impact some Android Auto features” whenever the battery saving mode is activated on their devices.

The battery saver is a dedicated feature that many phones come with, which is projected to help reduce power usage when you’re running out of battery. This is possible by cutting certain features of the phone, which in turn could cause various Android Auto issues.

So beginning with Android Auto 5.3, if the battery saving mode is activated on the smartphone that you’re using to power the app, you should see this warning message.

Of course, this is without a doubt a welcome improvement, especially because battery saving has previously been the culprit of various issues with Android Auto. One of them, for example, caused random disconnects of Android Auto, and as many discovered the hard way, everything returned to normal only when the battery saver was disabled.

Needless to say, if battery saver isn’t activated on your smartphone, you shouldn’t see the warning when launching Android Auto.
