Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the LaFerrari is the most exclusive modern supercar to come out of the Maranello factory. Built in only 499 units, Ferrari’s first hybrid vehicle was an instant hit among wealthy enthusiasts.
Despite its €1.3 million ($1.7 million) price tag, the LaFerrari gathered over 1,000 requests, which means that more than half of its potential customers will have to settle for some other supercar. And drivers like us, who can’t really afford such a car, would probably be happy just to see one on the streets.
But what if we could have a LaFerrari in our home? Sounds ridiculous, right? Well, it’s not that absurd now that a 1:18 scale model of this Italian hypercar will be produced. Resin model company BBR announced their miniature LaFerrari right after the real car was unveiled, but it’s only now that they published the first photos.
While only a prototype version of the soon-to-be-introduced production model, the 1:18 miniature look as real as the 900 HP-packing LaFerrari. No official word on pricing yet, but BBR are known for asking more than $400 for their resin models. Not quite cheap for a model car, but really a bargain when compared to the real thing.
