The Joey Dunlop Foundation Expands, Offers Joey's Bar Replica 600cc Honda as Draw Prize

Joey Dunlop IS one of the unsung heroes. During his life, he was a keen philanthropist, and his legacy is carried on after his demise. The Joey Dunlop Foundation is now seeking for additional funds to expand one of their operations in Manx.

The Isle of Man-based charity has been running several holiday apartments for people with disabilities at the Braddan Bridge House. With the financial efforts made in 2015 and the new raffle, JDF hopes to be able to expand the accommodation capacity from 12 to 20.

Joey Dunlop Foundation chairman Kevin Quirk says that the accommodation works very well, with the last year seeing it running at full capacity for months. "Over the past five years, Joey’s charity has seen a steady increase in the number of visitors staying at our disabled friendly holiday apartments and with virtually 100 per cent occupancy during June, July and August, it a was clear indicator that we needed to expand," Quirk says, according to the Newsletter.

Clive Padgett, Ian Hutchinson, Conor Cummins and more support the charity

The Joey Dunlop Foundation has one more source of attracting funds, and that is a draw with a very attractive first prize. The lucky winner of the draw takes home a Joey Dunlop replica Honda CBR600RR motorcycle painted in the yellow and black Bar colors.

Second on the prize list is a Padgetts paddock scooter, while the third-luckiest winner goes home with a JDF Mini-Moto machine. Tickets for the JDF draws can be bought online from the Joey Dunlop Foundation directly or at the North West 200, TT and Ulster Grand Prix.

Big names in the road racing scene also showed their support over the years, with the most recent ones being 11-time TT winner Ian Hutchinson, who drew the lucky ticket, Conor Cummins, who attended the charity’s recent annual dinner and announced the prizes, and obviously, Clive Padgett, whom we've already mentioned.

You can also support the Joey Dunlop Foundation by buying their merchandise and memorabilia from the website, and thus honor the achievement and life-long dedication of the 26-time TT winner.
