The Grand Tour Trailer Proves That There’s Life After Top Gear

When it all came crashing down for Top Gear after Jeremy punched a producer in the kisser, nobody knew how things would turn out in the end. After the immense scandal finally came to a conclusion, the three amigos made it clear that the BBC is yesterday’s news. A bit later on, Amazon confirmed that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are back in business.

On November 18, the team’s fruits of labor will finally pay off, and the waiting will come to a standstill because that’s when the first episode of The Grand Tour will be streaming on Amazon Prime. 11 episodes will follow the pilot, every Friday or so, after which two more seasons are in the offing. And from the looks of the trailer below, everything is just about perfect.

Jeremy, Richard, and James are all smiling and having a blast as if everyone got over the infamous fracas that put an end to Top Gear as we know it. Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid are doing a great job trying to revamp the BBC car show, but then again, the three amigos have that certain something that makes everyone resonate with them. They’ve got chemistry, they’ve got the humor, they’re lovably silly, and they’ve got a love for cars that goes beyond brochures and boring whatnots like the Toyota Prius.

If this trailer is any indication of what the future holds for Jeremy, Richard, and James, I’d say that they seem more passionate than ever about their jobs. And oh boy, a helluva lot of car-based shenanigans are in store for us. LaFerrari vs. 918 Spyder vs. P1, helicopters, jet skis, camels, pyramids, helicopters, a tank armed with live ammo, a track-focused Aston Martin Vulcan that gives up the ghost on Jeremy, an obscenely powerful Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, there’s a lot to look forward to from the show.

On an ending note, it must be mentioned that Amazon Prime is not available in some countries. Fret not, though. In this regard, The Grand Tour’s communications team has sweetened the situation with an optimistic yet cryptic undertaking: “Patience. Details will be released.”
