The Grand Tour Teaser Video Confirms The Boys Will Be Back On November 18

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! If you have ever watched the first incarnation of the Hanna-Barbera classic cartoon Scooby-Doo, you’ll understand why I have quoted Scooby-Doo’s most famous line. Upon finding out that The Grand Tour will hit Amazon Prime on November 18, 2016, I got just as excited as the Scooby-Doo does when the clumsy Great Dane is teased with Scooby Snacks.

If you scroll down the Amazon.co.uk page for The Grand Tour, chances are that you will notice the following line: “Clarkson, Hammond and May will drive onto our screens November 18.” Are you excited? Damn right you are!

Then, if you search through the uploads of The Grand Tour’s YouTube channel, chances are you’ll find a teaser clip with the following description: “Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May will launch The Grand Tour weekly, every Friday from 18th November exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. What could possibly go wrong?” That’s right, ladies and gentlemen!

The boys are back in town! Even though James May has previously mentioned Octoberish,” he was a month off the real start date of The Grand Tour’s first season. As the most anticipated show on Amazon Prime this year, a lot rides on the shoulders of Clarkson, Hammond, May, and executive producer Andy Wilman. Happily, however, the brand new car show will not disappoint.

As you can see from the teaser vid and adjacent stills, the three amigos have prepared a helluva lot of material for the show’s first season, which will consist of 12 episodes. Just to name a few of the vehicles we’ll be treated to, as teased in the 30-second video, expect to see three dune buggies, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Zenos E10 S, Aston Martin Vulcan, a military helicopter, Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, and a McLaren P1.

Speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, executive producer Andy Wilman confessed that it was hard for the boys to break new ground and reinvent themselves, but then again, Top Gear as we know it is dead. On the upside, The Grand Tour should be a pretty wild ride.
