Toyota couldn’t have come with a more SEO way of telling potential customers that the GT 86 is a car that can offer you good drifting times, with the carmaker introducing the Emirate Drift Team.
The automaker released an Youtube video that shows 27-year-old Ahmed Omran Al-Amri, two-time drift championship winner in UAE, throwing the GT 86 from one side to another on the track.
The team has demonstrated its devotion to Toyota in the past, using a 570 hp Toyota Soarer (Lexus SC) in its fight for victory and Toyota has provided GT 86 cars for the team. The adjacent clip shows the champion (he has already taken this year’s title) testing the car on the Yas Marina circuit, so we’re inviting you to watch an action-packed piece of footage.
Our say: this is what Arab Drifting should’ve been about all along.
