Volkswagen tried to break with tradition, but failed when a girl turned up wearing foam shaped like the GTI honeycomb grille. Meanwhile, Citroen had what looked like female engineers.
SEAT's stand had a sort of girl-next-door thing going on by dressing all the models in white shirts and leather jackets. It works well with their new SUV. As for Skoda, they probably had the sexiest blondes in all of Geneva wearing the usual tight, short dresses they do every year. We are not going to complain.
Maserati went for the Russian billionaire girlfriend doing shopping in Milan look. It doesn't use the full feminine potential of the girls, but at least we know how many fit in the trunk of the Levante SUV: two.
Fiat and Alfa Romeo weren't bad, both from the automotive and model point of view. We can't remember the last time we were so curious to see what the Italian manufacturers came up with.
The tuners and boutique supercar companies had far sexier models. Within a month, we'll forget all about Techrules and its blue spaceship. But the extra-deep blue eyes of the blond standing next to the car will linger far longer.
Overall, this was a lackluster event with the exception of the Chiron. Volkswagen is not the bold, wealthy company it used to be. Meanwhile, several manufacturers skipped Geneva, including MINI, Alpine and Chrysler. Others had very little to show, having spent their powder in Detroit.
