The Force of Unintended Acceleration. Toyota Parody

If the words unintended and acceleration put together mean anything to you, then you have a pretty good idea of what they mean. For two years now, for reasons as mysterious as the pyramids themselves, Toyota vehicles have been accelerating, against the will of their owners, turning the two common words into a nightmare for the Japanese auto maker.

Separately, the Germans from Volkswagen are accelerating also, but at a corporate level, going full throttle after Toyota and trying to pass it as the world's number one auto maker by the time the calendar reads 2018.

During this year's Super Bowl, Volkswagen aired a set of commercials like no other. Among them, a very special, extremely funny in a childish kind of way, was advertising the new Passat by portraying a little wannabe Darth Vader doing his best to unleash the force within him.

Now, somebody, armed with a camera, an old Toyota, a kid and a miniature Vader suit from some Star Wars convention, asks a simple question: “Wondering what could have happened if it wasn't a Volkswagen car in the Superbowl commercial?”

The answer can be found in the video below. An obviously more Force-gifted kid is wrecking havoc in his home, torturing dolls and toilet seats, until a larger target comes into scene. Unknown to the little Vader, the Toyota that is pulling in the front alley is possessed. The demon of unintended acceleration is apparently oblivious to what the Force means and, as a consequence, cares little about its effects. See what happens when the Force meets Unintended Acceleration.
