It’s not a pretty sight to see a brand new car wrecked but when it happens to one that just started selling it suddenly becomes newsworthy. Especially if it’s a BMW.
A lot of people complained that powerful rear-wheel drive cars can get you in trouble over the years, the last of the bunch being Mr. Jeremy Clarkson himself in the last Top Gear episode. However, I think it’s only a matter of personal choice and skill.
For example, the M135i crash Jezza showcased on Sunday’s episode could’ve easily been avoided if he chose not to push the hatchback to the absolute limit on an extremely wet road.
The M235i has roughly the same engine onboard and the same RWD transmission. Therefore, the same accidents can happen, as this poor Mineral White model showcased in the photo above proves.
From the looks of it, the Bimmer was seriously trashed but I don’t think it was totaled, even though we don’t have any official information about the whole incident. After all, it is a $45,000 car and it would take a bit more than just frontal damage to completely render it useless.
This goes to show, once again, that powerful cars are not to be messed with. Everyone wants a mad, crazy car but few people actually know how to handle them. You have been warned!
