Las week we reported on the first Alta Motors RedShift electric bike, but now it's time to make you so much more envious. The name of John Brown may sound as common and flat as it gets, but Honda has already written it down in the company's history books. Mr. Brown is the first customer worldwide to receive an RC213V-S MotoGP replica machine.
John Brown owns and runs a Honda dealership in Machester, the UK, so we might say this was a family affair. Brown also owns a Honda motorcycle collection that includes machines such as a new RC30, VTR1000 SP1 and SP2, CBR900RR Fireblade, and VF1000F.
Frankly, we only expected a diehard Honda fan or a filthy rich collector to snatch the very first RC213V-S unit sold in the world, and we are glad to see the former getting hold of it.
Mr. Brown was also one of the first persons to register on the dedicated pre-order website when the RC213V-S went on sale, and he says that the day when Honda called to let him know that his order was accepted was one of the most special in his life.
"To see the world’s first RC213V-S presented to a customer today is fantastic, especially to someone like John who is so passionate about Honda. Throughout the development process, we have kept the RC213V-S as similar to the MotoGP machine as possible, so that the customer gets the closest experience to riding the RC213V as possible. The sales and interest in the bikes have been very strong, with some customers wanting to keep in collections and others wanting to ride," Tetsuo Suzuki, Operating Officer, Honda Motorcycles added.
The S version of the RC213V has been in development for three years and represents the pinnacle of Honda's sportbike engineering that can be taken to the street.
It is not known whether Mr. Brown plans to set his all-new RC213V-S on display or ride it. Likewise, Honda doesn't mention if he bought the €188,000, 159 hp street version or the track-only 215 hp race kit model. Either way, that was one hell of a Christmas present!
