VLF Destino, the Corvette-engined Fisker Karma revamp, has been delivered to its first customer. This is a car company started by Bob Lutz, former product chief at General Motors, along with wealthy entrepreneur Gilbert Villarreal, a former Boeing executive.
Henrik Fisker is the last to join the company, but he has a rightful place in VLF Automotive, as he was the founder of the Fisker brand and the designer of the Karma.

After the Fisker Automotive company had gone bankrupt, Bob Lutz envisioned the possibility of replacing its hybrid drivetrain with a V8 engine from the Corvette ZL1, which comes with 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque.

At first, Bob “Maximum” Lutz imagined the new model in the form of conversion kits for existing Karma models, but the project eventually developed into the Destino.

The VLF Destino was first shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in the form of a concept car, but production has finally begun, and the first vehicle has been delivered to the 84-year-old executive. Bob Lutz kindly posted a few pictures of the car that will join his collection.

Mr. Lutz claims he is “over the moon” with excitement on how the Destino turned out. The executive joyfully named “Maximum Bob” also stated that he is “really happy with color and trim, as well as proportions,” which he described as “spectacular.” We agree on the latter, and even Fisker Karma fans can raise their thumbs to this.

VLF only plans to build a few dozen Destino models a year, so this delivery is a significant milestone for the company. The sticker price for a Destino is of $229,000, and it is made in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the same place where the Henrik Fisker-designed VLF Force One has been assembled.

The VLF company claims one of its famous clients includes a “well-known music celebrity,” and rumors point to Carlos Santana, the Detroit News reports.
