Even though the anniversary R nineT model from BMW’s Motorrad division was launched a while ago, the production just officially started and the first bike rolled off the production line.
Of course, the German company organized an event to mark the special occasion and invited various journalists and stars from Germany too. Amongst the VIP you could spot Horst Lichter and Ronalt Zehrfeld as well as the guys from Urban Motor and boxer-fans from Motorcircus.

Just as it passed midday, the first 3 fully assembled bike rolled into the crowd with 0 miles on the odometer thus marking the official start of production of the new model after two and a half years of development work.

“During the initial phase, our designers had already sat together with vehicle developers from Munich. So we were able to incorporate production-related aspects into the concept at a very early stage, thereby ensuring the quality of our manufacturing processes,” explains Dr. Marc Sielemann, head of production at BMW Motorrad.

The event also had a workshop where Project Manager Roland Stocker and his team demonstrated what the R nineT can bring to the table and where the audience could ask all sorts of questions about it.

Furthermore, a guided tour of the plant followed allowing the guests to take a look at what exactly goes on behind closed doors and what the manufacturing process implies.
