Remember the Hulk-themed BMW X6 that changed color when hot water was poured over it? It was a phenomenon across the internet, even ending up on 9GAG, so its designer decided to make another one.
This time, the base car is not a new BMW SUV, but a slightly older Italian supercar, the Lamborghini Gallardo. Graffiti artist Rene Turrek was tasked with creating something that embodies not only the Hulk but the whole Avengers team. From his workshop in Germany, he carefully added the American flag motif. Everybody knows the stars and stripes, but the paint was applied using different techniques, like splashing.
As much as we like seeing what the graffiti artist has done, the real magic only comes after that. A special kind of paint is applied over the whole car. Why cover up such a beautiful paintjob that probably took tens of hours to make? Because this paint is special. It changes color when warmed by the sun and when wet.
What's different is that this time you don't need hot water to get the color to change. It works with any water, cold or hot. We're waiting for a video to see the magic happen and will add that to the story when it's available.
Until that happens, we can offer you a bit of Lamborghini trivia. The Gallardo went out of production on 25 November 2013. There's little doubt that its replacement, the Huracan, will be more successful, but for now it's the most popular supercar ever made with a total production number of 14,022 units during its 10-year life.
