The Dubai Police Force Has a New 2015 GMC Sierra: Super...Pickup Truck?

When we found they added a brand new BMW i8 to their already jaw-dropping collection of sueprcars, at first we hesitated. Should we tell our readers about it? After all, it’s just another excellent vehicle they dress in the particular white-with-green colors. We ended up writing about it anyway, which is exactly what we’re going to do with this 2015 GMC Sierra.

BMW’s plug-in hybrid sportscar came in just weeks after The Dubai Police Force received a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom. Considering the level of wealth drivers live by in the eccentric city and how officials encourage that opulence with their own set of luxurious cars, buying this sort of vehicles is not even that surprising anymore.

Dressing GMC’s favorite pickup truck in the famous Dubai Police colors and turning the massive off-roader into a villains-catching machine, on the other hand, sure makes for news. After all, Dubai lies directly within the Arabian Desert. The opulent city is highlighted by sandy desert patterns while gravel deserts dominate much of the southern region of the country itself. A pickup truck of Sierra’s size sure comes in handy, drivers will probably think.

Dubai Police CIO Khalid N Alrazooqi teased his followers on Twitter with a picture of the vehicle last month, and we recently stumbled upon it.

What we found rather intriguing, however, is that the truck in question is not qualifying for the $100,000+ worth vehicles club. We all know their expensive cars are partially a marketing strategy; they use all the supercars to patrol the touristic areas, rather than chasing bad guys on the city’s outskirts.
