About a week ago we were showing you a rather peculiar drag race between the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG and the most powerful production Australian car, the muscular HSV GTS.
We knew even before watching that video that the HSV will beat the AMG, but the rather small gap between the two models, all things considered, was a bit of a surprise.

Today we found out that the drag race was actually made by the Aussies from Drive, which recently uploaded the edited version of the race, together with the measurements they took of the two vehicles.

In case you didn't know it by now, this drag race is between the most powerful HSV and the least powerful AMG.

The HSV GTS monster is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that offers 585 hp (577 bhp) and 740 Nm (546 lb ft) of torque, while the furious CLA 45 AMG sports a two-liter, turbocharged four-banger that develops 360 hp (355 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque.

Since the CLA is over 300 kilograms (661 pounds) lighter than the HSV and it's also sporting 4Matic all-wheel drive against the rear-wheel drive of the Aussie, the race is actually lead by the Mercedes-Benz for the first half of the quarter mile, with the Holden beating it only towards the end.
