The Chocolate Slider Is JSK Custom Design's Amazing BMW R nineT Scrambler

Usually, when we hear abut yet a new scrambler, we sort of know what's coming, but from time to time the bike builders do surprise us. It's the case of a Taiwan-born designer who moved to LA and founded JSK Custom Design, and is now offering an R nineT-derived machine that looks amazing and was built for the roughest trails.

It's not uncommon that designers tend to go too far into the good-looks territory with their scramblers, and thus neglect the practicality of riding these machines. JSK's Chocolate Slider tells a different story, a story of balance between head-turning aesthetics and tackling muddy off-road trails.

The JSK Chocolate Slider was engineered to look good and do well when the asphalt becomes a distant memory. At least, this bike will do as well as a BMW R nineT ever could, provided that its ground clearance is not comparable to what an enduro bike can brag on.

Keep things lightweight and out of the way of the elements

Water and Earth are the biggest elemental enemies of an off-road machine, the JSK done their best to prepare the R nineT for when the going gets tough. The exhaust pipes have been relocated to the upper part of the frame, all thermo-wrapped. They received SuperTrapp silencers and beautifully-crafted carbon fiber heat shields that protect the rider's legs.

The tank, seat pan and tail section are a lightweight one-piece construction crafted by metal Lab Fab., and many of the bike's electronics are also stashed high under the metal dome of the tank, so that even wading rivers will be safe.

A H2 Plus rear monoshock arrived from Gears Racing, while Brembo 17RCS and 19 RCS brake masters replaced the stock ones. Continental TKC80 tires add amazing traction even in deep mud, while K&N filters allow the engine to breathe freely.

LED headlights were mounted high into the uncanny front plate that also incorporates the Summit racing oil cooler. A BMW-style V-type handlebar was built from carbon fiber by Answer, and clamped in place by a special part manufacturer by Black Smith Co.

It received a simple Motogadget instrument cluster replaced the BMW instruments, as well. On the aesthetic side, RSD delivered contrast cut cylinder head covers and breastplate, complementing the JSK Custom Design seat and color scheme. The BMW M tricolor is the final touch to the Chocolate Slider.

And you most likely don't need us to tell you that the Chocolate Slider has already started winning awards in custom bike shows, do you? If we were to summarize this build, we'd go for "sleek aesthetics with a glorious propension for real mud fun."
