The Checkmate, built by Wally Yachts in 2015, is now up for grabs. And for $3.4 million, she can be yours. But, be cautious, she’s a beast with over 3500 HP.
Sure, she might not be a super-yacht, but she’s perfect as your escort to and from harbors or for guests. Heck she’s even nice enough to give you a nice private party if your guests get to be a bit much.

Built in 2015 by Wally Yachts, she features strong looks and the speed to match. An all-black hull and clean sharp lines give her an eye-candy appeal. All that black and metal is off-set by a deck made of wood, offering the Checkmate just the right visual balance. The rear of the vessel houses a swim platform that offers access to water-play at any time. From that platform you’re onto the deck of the ship.

Here you’ll find two tables equipped with seating for your guests, including lounge pads. This area also seems perfect for kicking back and enjoying the sun. This area is separated, however, from another lounging and dining area, one designed as an interior space.

This area is separated from the outside deck with glass sliding doors. This entire space is indoors, so you and your guests are able to enjoy a climate-controlled setting if it gets too hot outside. Here too, you’ll find two tables and velvet seating. All of this space is illuminated by LED accents in the roof and flooring of the ship.

From here, you’ve got two options. You can take a step up from this space into the navigational bridge or down to the ‘love’ cabins. The rooms offer a minimalist design but equipped with enough space for your belongings. The master suite is at the rear of the ship and offers more space, while the guest cabin is at the bow, and slightly smaller.

Lighting is once again offered by the use of LED accenting in the roof and floor. Here too the flooring is made of wood. In between the two rooms you will find a fully equipped kitchen. A sink, fridge, induction stove-tops, and even an oven, are there to help you show off your cooking skills.

The front of the vessel however, is a bit different. When you’ll first step atop it, you won’t see much except a wooden deck. However, upon a closer inspection, you notice sectioned bits of flooring. These sections are absolutely lovely. The are able to morph in such a way as to reveal a bow-facing table and lounge seating.

Just imagine it for a minute. Last night was a long one. You wake up to the gentle rocking of the ways in the bays of Monaco. You look for your Mr. or Mrs. but they’re not around. Out of the corner of your eye you see a little post-it on the door frame with the words, “Breakfast up top. xoxo.” Rubbing your eyes, you nearly trip on the first step. A door leads you outside onto the front deck where the sun hits you in the eyes. Blinded by the light you hear “Morning!” your eyes settle and you see breakfast spread out onto the deck, café at the ready.

At some point, if you do get tired of sitting around and lounging, the Checkmate is ready to give you an adrenaline rush. Two massive MAN V12 engines with 1800 HP each will keep you cruising at 35 knots and hit a top speed of 45. Almost as fast as the SS18.

So have a look if you don’t have the cash. Checkmate, if you do.
