The Cheapest Toyota Camry V6 For 2020 Is the TRD

At $31,995 including the destination charger, the TRD is the most affordable Camry V6 for the 2020 model year. According to Cars Direct, the pricing represnts “a nearly $4,000 advantage comparted to the XSE.”

The order guides also reveal the XLE is $3,410 more expensive, but that’s not the end of it. Considering that the Honda Accord Sport with the 2.0-liter turbo and automatic transmission is $31,640, there’s a lot to like about the Camry TRD given the reliability of the 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6.

Thanks to 301 horsepower and a quick-shifting automatic transmission, the front-wheel-drive sedan also happens to promise a lot of driving thrills. The stiffer springs of the chassis and lowered ride height add to the experience, along with additional bracing, enlarged anti-roll bars, a sports exhaust system, and 0.9-inch larger disc brakes up front with dual-piston calipers.

As for the reason why the Camry TRD is so affordable, that’s because it’s based on the SE trim level. Given the $5,000 difference, it’s somewhat surprising that the Camry TRD doesn’t feature the optional Navigation Package and Driver Assist Package. On the upside, automatic emergency braking comes standard along with red badging, red balipers, an aerodynamic body kit, and synthetic leather upholstery as opposed to perforated leather in the case of the XSE.

Each of the 19- by 8.5-inch wheels are half an inch wider and 3.1 pounds lighter than the 19- by 8.0-inch wheels on the XSE. The Bridgestone Potenza summer tires promise quicker turn-in response and more lateral grip.

As for the cabin of the mid-size sedan, Black Sport SofTex front seats are decked out with fabric inserts, red accents, and embroidered headrests with the Toyota Racing Development logo in red. The seatbelts and steering wheel stitching are also red, but the branding doesn’t end there.

An embossed TRD logo on the shift knob is complemented by TRD floor mats and trunk mat. As if those weren’t enough, the TRD MID visual start-up sequence brings the point home.
