Folks, today's keyword is storage. Weinsberg is a company with a rich heritage of building ingenious motorhomes, and they have a wide range of vehicles on offer. We're going to look at a semi-integrated van, the CaraLoft.
With know-how developed in over 50 years of experience, Weinsberg is a German company dedicated to fulfilling its customer's dreams of freedom by providing a fantastic companion – their motorhome. They manufacture reliable, stylish, and family-friendly vehicles with a perfect balance between price and performance.

One of these vehicles is the CaraLoft. What initially attracted me to this motorhome was its ingenious design and the storage space it offers.

The CaraLoft has the ideal blend of comfort and space. It's built on a Fiat Ducato, and with three different layouts available, you'll probably find something that tickles your fancy. Before we get there, let me tell you more about its specifications.

As the name suggests, the vehicle is indeed a loft on wheels. It has a total height of 294 cm (116 inches) and a width of 232 cm (91 inches), with a huge permissible gross weight of 3,500 kg. With a ground clearance of 40 cm (16 inches), it's wise not to take it hardcore off-roading, but it'll probably tackle a light challenge.

Let's start with its exterior. At first glance, it may look like your ordinary motorhome, but the CaraLoft has some features you won't find in most vehicles. Let me tell you what I feel sets this home's exterior apart from its competitors.

First, the full LED taillights provide maximum visibility when traveling at night and have a pretty nice and sharp look. Second, if you go to its rear, you'll find a door that leads to the garage, offering plenty of storage space. Say you want to take your bike out for a ride - you won't have to cram it through the interior and leave scratches and marks in your wake; simply go to the back and take it out through the door. And lastly, my favorite feature is the Easy-Travel-Box, a compartment that centralizes all the vehicle's ports and connections, a handy element.

Let's move inside – as I mentioned, there are three available layouts, the 600 MF, 650 ME, and 650 MF, which are similar; only one has more room for the bathroom, one is longer and can sleep four (instead of the standard two), and there are other minor details that differ. I'll try to cover the CaraLoft as a whole without focusing on a specific layout.

Its design genuinely maximizes storage space. I bet that once you enter, you can close your eyes, spin around, stop, and in whatever direction you're facing, if you open your eyes again, you'll see some space where you can place some of your belongings.

The interior will comfortably fit even the tallest people with a total height of over 2.15 meters (7 feet). It's also designed so that you do not feel cramped between the kitchen and the seating area. The lounge features a swivel table so you can arrange the setting the way you want, and even rotate the driver and passenger seats around so you can fit guests and have a nice meal.

About that, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook on the go. The three-burner cooktop, deep stainless-steel sink, and folding worktop invite you to make your favorite dish. You'll find a bunch of cabinets and other spaces to store your utensils and a massive 133-liter (35-gallon) refrigerator that can hold at least a couple of days' worth of food, and that's if you're an avid eater.

So, let's say you invited your guests over, had a friendly chat, and enjoyed a tasty meal; now it's time to sit back and relax. The bedroom is toward the back of the mobile home, and it differs depending on the three models. You can choose twin single beds (that can be transformed into a double bed using an optional extension) or select the double bed in the 650 MF version. The mattresses were chosen with comfort in mind so you can properly rest after a tiring day. You'll discover the wardrobe just under the bed.

Some people are afraid they won't be able to maintain proper hygiene if they choose to live in a mobile home. Well, you won't have that problem in the CaraLoft. The bathroom offers a swivel washbasin, a low shower step, and enough space to move when inside.

There are many other details about this RV, but I didn't want to bore you by talking about every single one, so I invite you to discover them on the Weinsberg website.

The CaraLoft has a base price of €61,500 ($61,800), making it affordable for what it has to offer. Still, it can quickly increase if you opt for additional options such as extra ventilation, heating, a more powerful engine, and many others.
