We’re months away from Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start looking for really cool gifts to surprise your kids with. The Car Lover’s Engine Repair Set might just be a good example of that gift, as it not only looks good, but it actually has learning features. In fact, if you’re lucky you’ll soon find that you’re kid turned into a mini-mechanic.
One of the moments a father would always share with his kid is under the hood of you classic Chevy while teaching him basic mechanics. But your children might not be old enough to properly handle a wrench, which is why you could always consider getting started by gifting him this Car Lover’s Engine Repair Playset. This is pretty much what it’s creators probably thought of when they design it.

And of course Hammacher Schlemmer shop added the toy in their unexpected gift collection. What you see in the picture above is the front half of a car that lets aspiring mechanics pop the hood, change the oil, and tinker with the engine.

With a removable cowling, spark plugs, wing nuts and other lifelike car components, children can practice testing the brakes, changing the air filter, and using the dipstick to check the oil levels.

Like any of us adults did at least once, after the repairing is over, your kid can even get behind the wheel to turn the ignition key and hear how the engine sounds when it starts. According to the online shop, the car has a working horn and headlights, and the set comes with a screwdriver, wrench, and other tools sized to fit little grease-monkey hands. Best news, it will cost you $120, so it shouldn’t be a big problem.
