The C8 Corvette Can Now Be Kitted With Carbon-Fiber Parts From SpeedKore

Responsible for the likes of a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody with AWD, a carbon-fiber body shell, and a twin-turbo V8, SpeedKore isn’t exactly your regular tuner. These guys have also created Lucifer, the world’s fastest Dodge Demon at 8.06 seconds and 159.54 miles per hour (256.75 km/h) at the drag strip.

This time around, the SpeedKore Performance Group has switched from Mopar muscle to General Motors and their mid-engine sports car. That’s right; the C8 Corvette is getting carbon-fiber goodies from the Wisconsin-based shop!

The parts are almost ready for production, and as you can tell from the demo vehicle in the photo gallery, they add a little more sportiness to the looks of the C8 Corvette. The front splitter, for example, is made from prepreg carbon and autoclave cured as well as pre-drilled for mounting. Available in glossy or matte finishes, this component is joined by rocker panels that appear very OEM.

“Watch this space for details,” said SpeedKore in their most recent post on social media, which is another way of telling you that pricing isn’t available for the time being. For reference, Chevrolet wants $2,095 for visible carbon-fiber grille inserts and $1,145 for the mirror caps in carbon fiber. The $995 Engine Appearance Package adds a little bit of the composite material for the closeout panels on each side of the LT2 small-block V8 blunderbuss with 6.2 liters of displacement.

In related news, EIKON Motorsports from Arizona offers scissor doors – or Lambo doors if you want to call them that – for $2,999. Fabspeed is much obliged to swap the standard and NPP exhaust systems for the very loud Valvetronic Maxflo at $3,995 plus $1,295 for the cat bypass pipes. Spruce up the LT2 with Kooks stainless-steel headers and you can expect 20 more rear-wheel horsepower.

More serious mods include the ProCharger supercharged upgrade upgrade that promises 700 horsepower (710 PS) at the very least, up from the stock rating of 495 horsepower (502 PS) for the Z51 Performance Package. Hennessey, on the other hand, goes the extra mile with a twin-turbo kit that cranks out 1,200 horsepower (1,217 PS).
