The Aston Martin One-77 is making its first public appearance in the United Kingdom today, taking part in a supercar run from London to Silverstone, Autocar reveals. With a price tag of just over GBP1.2 million and built in a limited edition of 77 units, the Aston Martin One-77 is the ultimate Aston Martin and the most sought after car the sportscar company produced in years.

Its dramatic styling will be on display on British streets today, as the One-77 will take part in a run from London to Silverstone along other supercars to promote this weekend’s FIA GT1 round at the British circuit. Aston Martin participates in the FIA-sanctioned championship with the race version of the DB9 model.

Before starting its run to Silverstone, the first production-ready One-77 posed on the streets of central London today. The gallery is impressive and it shows the car for the first time in a city landscape. It looks very well indeed.

The Aston One-77 is powered by a 7.3-litre V12 engine, an evolution of the engine that powers the DB9, DBS and Vantage models. Power output is little over 700 horsepower and the car weighs approximately 1,500 kg, less than any other Aston Martin. The high power and low weight make an explosive cocktail. In December 2009 tests, the One-77 has already become the fastest Aston ever, recording more than 220 mph (354 km/h). The 0 to 60 mph time is estimated at 3.5 seconds.

According to Aston Martin, all 77 units programmed for production have already been reserved. 10 of them have been bought by one Middle East customer.
