The Apple iCar Won't Be Here Very Soon, Experts Say

There's always a clear timeline of events when it comes to Apple and their overrated products. But we won't be talking about their new smartphone, upcoming tablet or iWatch. Instead, we're turning our attention to the Apple iCar.

The last months have been filled with news about Apple's wonder-car, whether they spoke about the iCar test mule, Apple's headhunting for automotive specialists or digital renderings of the car.

According to investment research company Sanford C Bernstein, cited by Forbes, Apple is nowhere near launching a new car.

The research company argues “the idea of an Apple iCar is not totally outlandish. But when Apple enters a category, it usually aims for domination. For that to be feasible in the auto industry, a huge number of technical barriers will need to be overcome and a series of revolutionary developments will need to align simultaneously – notably competitive electric powertrains and autonomous driving."

Now, as we all know, Apple's biggest advantage lies in their massive cash reserves that can easily guarantee one thing: others can be paid to do the work for them.

There are also a lot of questions regarding the company's future strategy. Will they produce their very own lithium-ion batteries? Or will Apple try to outsource manufacturing? Moreover, how will they tackle standard issues that come when embarking on a journey that will supposedly end with a fully-functional, autonomous, electric car?

Despite the rumors about Apple recruiting automotive experts and investing billions in their first car, one thing's for sure: Apple is not assaulting the car industry; they're rather testing the waters for now.
