The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Video Reviews Are Finally Here

We can't believe that we are finally able to share with you guys the first Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio video reviews. It's a car that's been talked about so many times, although never with the confidence and excitement associated with new AMG or Porsche models.

Alfa Romeo failed time and time again to deliver what we all wanted. After the death of the 159, it wasn't the company we all fell in love with. The 4C also did little to revive it, as the editor of Evo Diaries points out.

We've seen plenty of reviews of the new Giulia performance sedan, but all of them have been in Italian and we didn't know if national pride got in the way of objectivity.

So, is it fast? Of course. If Ferrari gets around to making an entry-level sportscar with a V6 engine, it will be similar to the one in the Quadrifoglio. The 2.9-liter 90-degree unit makes more power and sounds a hell of a lot better than the BMW M3. Without comparing them back to back, it's difficult to say which is more fun, but the initial impressions from Evo suggest the Ferrari input has paid off.

Fast? Yes. The Giulia Q set a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 39 seconds. Remarkably, the newer Golf GTI Clubsport S hot hatch is only 49 seconds slower. But Ferrari never lets lap times interfere with enjoyment, so we don't actually care what cars the Giulia is faster than, even though there are a lot of them.

Quality? Alfa Romeos of old aren't exactly known for this, but the Giulia's cabin is nicely equipped and almost German in many ways. Sure, the Audi S4 has better trim, but the Italians have done their best job yet. Auto Trader was also invited to this test drive event and was much more critical of the interior. But even they agree the niggles don't matter when you have a Ferrari engine. The bad news is that they say it doesn't feel all that fast on the track, which probably has to do with the lack of feedback from the steering wheel and the smoothness of the ZF automatic gearbox.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
