With 2.2 million subscribers and counting, Vehicle Virgins is one of the biggest automotive channels on YouTube right now. Founder Parker Nirenstein had the opportunity of reviewing the Bronco in First Edition flavor, and guess what? He believes it’s better than a Jeep Wrangler. Be that as it may, we should remember that Ford took inspiration from the JK and JL when the Bronco was a mere sketch on the drawing board.
Had they not emulated the Wrangler, the Bronco would’ve looked very different considering that every Bronco from the second through the fifth generation is a full-size leviathan. In some instances, however, Ford’s pride and joy is better than the Wrangler. The side mirrors, for example, are mounted to the front pillars instead of the doors, making it easier to remove the doors. But in other areas, the Ford Motor Company has totally botched the Bronco. The hardtop’s quality issues come to mind and don’t even get me started about the crazy waiting times from order placement to delivery.

Parker Nirenstein makes a very good point about the independent suspension up front: “it drives much better than a Wrangler. It doesn’t have that sloppy steering where you feel like you’re going every which direction but straight.” I remember driving a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon to a mountain pass two years ago, and yeah, the steering may be considered a little challenging by anyone who isn’t accustomed to pickups or body-on-frame SUVs.

Just like the Wrangler, the Bronco is somewhat noisy on the road at freeway speeds because it has the aerodynamics of a brick. Parker also highlights the unimpressive sound the 2.7-liter EcoBoost makes, which is not as pleasant as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost motor in the 2021 model year Ford F-150 Raptor.

“I’d choose this over a Jeep Wrangler every single day of the week,” signed off Parker, which is the highest praise one could offer the all-new Bronco.
