By now, many of you have checked out the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 in detail, from the official shots to the private cars blitzing the Nurburgring. However, there's one detail of the beast that very few have been able to feast their eyes on and that's its belly.
With the Gen 2 GT3 borrowing the massive rear diffuser of the 2017 Porsche 911 R, simply visiting your dealer or hitting Cars and Coffee for a lean-under-the-car move wouldn't be enough.
Thankfully, though, there are people out there who have already taken their 991.2 GT3s down the aftermarket path and the freshest example of the kind allows us to check out the flat-six motor of the Porscha from underneath.

The Neunelfer has been gifted with a Sharwerks exhaust, which means its 4.0-liter boxer can now fully express its feelings and emotions.
And what a motor this is - keep in mind that the mid-cycle revamp has seen the GT3 dropping its 3.8-liter heart in favor of a 4.0-liter motor developed based on the engine of the GT3 Cup racecar.
The new engine mixes the 500 hp output of the 991.1 GT3 RS with the 9,000 rpm redline of the 991.1 GT3 (the Rennsport model's engine might be more powerful, but it stops singing at 8,800 rpm).
The Zuffenhausen engineers have learned from the less-than-pleasant situations experienced with the previous GT3's 3.8-liter engine, which means the reliability has also been boosted. Heck, we could probably sit here all day mentioning reasons to fall in love with the 2018 Neunelfer GT3. Nevertheless, we'll stop here an invite you to feast your eyes on the boxer delight in the image we have here.
