The BMW Group Classic (custodian of BMW Group heritage) is already present at the event with classic cars developed by the company over it's almost 100 years of automotive excellence.

This will be the perfect occasion to celebrate 90 years of BMW Motorrad, 50 years of the Mini Cooper S, 40 years of the BMW 3.0 CSL in motor sport and 80 years of the BMW “double-kidney” front grille.

Amongst the unique MINIs on display at the Techno Classica this year you will also find a Innocenti Mini, a car conceived in Italy by Milan-based company Innocenti. This version was built only for the Italian market between 1965 and 1975 and stayed true to the engineering found on the original Mini.

Another rare car that's present in Essen these days is a 1973 3.0 CSL (Which stands for Coupe Sport Lightweight). This legendary BMW was the first one developed by the BMW Motorsport division and had 365 HP under the bonnet and a kerb weight of just 1,062 kg (2341 lb). With such numbers it was easy for the CSL to dominate the motorsport world in years to come.
